WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!

Spider Man is back after the death of his mentor Iron Man and trying to figure out his life as Peter Parker and the hero holding the torch after Tony Stark. Let’s review Spider-Man Far Away From Home.

THAT’S OUR SPIDER-MAN

Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man we’ve seen. No disrespect to the other guys but Tom has the complete package as Peter Parker and after he’s done I don’t think there should be any reboots. I will go completely ape shit if someone tries a reboot.

THE PACING

From the start of the movie Peter is always on the move. Everything seems like a blur and he never really has a chance to breathe and this is evident at the charity event he did as Spider-Man and he got a glimpse of what being the worlds most popular hero entails. He understood that Tony Stark was not human in the slightest. Then he has the school trip to London where he wants to tell MJ that he likes her then he has Nick Fury requesting his services then he has Mysterio to deal with. Every moment Peter thought he could get a break he was wrong and that helped the pacing of the film.

MYSTERIO

Mysterio was a piece of shit and it was hilarious. He was a piece of shit in the cartoons so this was expected but the bar scene where Mysterio is celebrating like he rules the world was hilarious. Now the explanation of why he was doing these things seemed very cheesy. He was basically another version of Syndrome from incredibles 1 where he was cast aside and made fun of by Tony Stark, so he was hell bent on getting revenge on Tony Stark and anyone associated with him. Vulture was a better written Villian to me. That was the only bad thing about Jake’s role as Mysterio and that’s not his fault. His performance was excellent. It could’ve done without the Tony Stark connection and been fine.

PETER AND MJ

I liked all of their scenes together because it’s very adorable shit. Peter Parker taste in women this go round is A1. Give my boy his flowers. This shit just a teen movie with superhero shit in it. I’m okay with that just as long as it’s entertaining.

ACTION?

There was not enough action for me and one of the scenes in the previews were not in the film. I do not know why. Now the final action sequence was crazy and way more action packed than Homecoming so I was not disappointed in that. The fights right before the final face-off was really cool too. The CGI they used for Mysterio’s illusions were amazing. Especially when he was fighting Spider-Man and Peter had no clue what to do. I just thought there would be more action at the beginning and middle of the film. At least there were a lot of jokes especially from Nick Fury and Peter’s friends. It was still entertaining regardless.

MID CREDIT SCENE

J. Jonah Jameson is back which shocked the shit outta me and my whole theater cheered. I like where they’re going with Spider-Man. Mysterio tricked Peter again and framed him for the attacks overseas and now Spider-Man is the most hated hero in the world. Mysterio also revealed Spider-Man’s identity which isn’t really shocking. Everybody knows the other Avengers so it isn’t a big deal. With all the cell phones and other tech out today how could they not know who Spider-Man is? MJ even knew it was Peter. I’m interested on where they go with this in the next film.

FINAL CREDIT SCENE

Apparently The Skrulls were acting as Nick and Maria and the real Nick Fury was on a ship in space with other Skrulls pretending he was on vacation. I don’t think this has any significance in future films I think it was just comedy relief.

Overall I enjoyed this film more than the first definitely want to see it again. Great start to phase 4.
